Yes. Scotty’s Body Shop works with all major insurance companies and helps guide you through the claims process from start to finish. One important thing many Iowa drivers don’t realize is that you have the right to choose your own repair shop, regardless of which shop your insurance company recommends. Our team works directly with your insurer, documents the repairs properly, and advocates for the work your vehicle needs so you can move forward with confidence.

Yes, Scotty’s Body Shop is I-CAR Certified. I-CAR (Inter-Industry Conference on Auto Collision Repair) is the recognized industry standard for collision repair training and technical competency. I-CAR Certification means our technicians have completed rigorous training and that our repairs are performed to meet manufacturer specifications and current industry standards — providing you with confidence that the work is done correctly and documentably.

Repair timelines vary based on the extent of the damage, parts availability, and current shop scheduling. Minor repairs such as small dents or touch-ups may be completed more quickly, while significant collision repairs involving structural work or full repaints will require more time. When you bring your vehicle in for an estimate, we will provide you with a realistic timeline based on the actual scope of work required.

Yes. Our auto painting service includes color-matching technology designed to identify and replicate your vehicle’s factory paint color as accurately as possible. The goal is a seamless blend between the repaired area and the existing finish, so the repair is not visible to the eye. Our team applies the same professional attention to paint work as to every other aspect of the repair.

Several things distinguish Scotty’s Body Shop in the Des Moines market. We are I-CAR Certified, meaning our repairs meet a verifiable industry standard. We have been recognized with the Des Moines People’s Choice Award, a reflection of community trust rather than self-promotion. We operate an environmentally responsible shop, maintain a clean and professional facility, and actively hold ourselves accountable through ongoing organizational evaluation. We are a local Des Moines shop — not a franchise — and that means our reputation is directly tied to how well we treat every single customer.
